Research
Current challenges in crop pathology guide our research and extension activities.
We utilize multiple approaches to promote environmentally- and economically-sustainable crop disease management.
Foliar Fungal Pathogens
We primarily study soybean, corn, and wheat pathogens. Our focus is to evaluate and improve current management practices and improve early detection of foliar fungal pathogens.
This research allows us to partner with Missouri farmers, State Extension Specialists across the US, Industry, Commodity Groups, MU Extension Field Specialists and the MU Integrated Pest Management Program.
We have one of the longest running Missouri Strip Trial projects projects: Evaluations of Foliar Fungicide Treatments to Soybean
Soil Pathogens
We focus mostly on soil pathogens of soybean and utilize the nematode diagnostic clinic within the program.
We are interested in learning more about non-plant parasitic microbes, which can serve as indicators of soil health.
